MISO concluded that Pearl Street’s SUGAR automation software is an effective alternative to the power flow simulations it used to conduct to identify network upgrades for generation projects in the queue.

MISO is pushing back a restart of its swamped generator interconnection queue by a few months while it tries to study through the backlog with tech company Pearl Street.

MISO officially decided it will forgo acceptance of a 2024 queue cycle of projects while it works with Pearl Street to automate interconnection studies.
