Most owners of electric cars use home chargers to refill their EV batteries. A 120-volt Level 1 charger requires overnight or longer to fully charge EV batteries. Home chargers on 240-volt lines, similar to an electric dryer, can fully charge in as little as 8 hours. Charging speed typically slows once a battery is more than 80% full. The Citizens Utility Board of Ohio (CUB Ohio) noted in a report issued Tuesday that Ohio has not developed a comprehensive EV policy.
