The Western Electricity Coordinating Council’s effort to clarify its mission will no longer include a name change, the group’s new chief said.

NERC CEO Jim Robb said his organization is sidestepping politics and striving to maintain its independence from industry.

NERC said that it has appointed Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) chief Jim Robb as its new president and CEO, effective April 9.
