New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities backed measures to keep on track one of its three remaining offshore wind projects and retool a large-scale solar incentive program.

Solar developers are urging the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to extend the completion timelines in the agency’s proposed storage development plan.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved eight solar projects in its second solicitation for grid-scale projects, nine months after declining to support any bids in the first solicitation due to cost. 

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities rejected one grid-scale solar project and supported another, as well as laying the ground work for its fourth offshore wind solicitation.

New Jersey regulators plan a new solicitation for the state’s Competitive Solar Incentive program on Oct. 1 after rejecting initial bids as too expensive.  

New rules proposed to govern what land can be used for solar projects were met with little opposition but a stream of queries and suggested improvements.
