Aaron Markham, NYISO vice president of operations, presented the 2025-2026 Winter Capacity Assessment and Winter Preparedness forecasts to the Operating Committee.

NYISO shared a detailed analysis of New York’s late June heat wave, in which significant operating reserve shortages elevated energy prices.

The heat wave at the end of June caused the average locational-based marginal price for the month to increase dramatically, NYISO said.

NYISO members approved new rules for ambient line ratings and HVDC lines.
