The U.S. Department of Energy is looking for developers that want to build artificial intelligence data centers — and the power generation to run them — on two nuclear sites.

ERCOT, Oncor and the Texas PUC asked FERC to deny a petition from Puerto Rican company Pluvia to bring the territory under the commission’s jurisdiction.

Pluvia, a firm based in Puerto Rico, has asked FERC to find that its project of shipping energy from the mainland to the island via batteries on cargo ships could trigger commission jurisdiction.

FERC last week granted a petition from a company looking to build an undersea transmission line to Puerto Rico.
