The Virginia General Assembly wrapped up its session and Democrats used the power they won in November's elections to push through bills favoring clean energy as the state faces significant load growth from data centers.
Virginia legislators introduced a series of bills they hope to pass in a short session this year aimed at addressing demand growth from data centers through cost allocation of utility rates, increased transparency in planning and tying tax incentives to efficiency requirements.
The Virginia State Corporation Commission has a full complement of commissioners after the General Assembly approved two new members.
