U.S. Sen Joe Manchin, D-WV, chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, questioned during a committee hearing on hydrogen Thursday whether the gas could be injected into coal-burning power plant boilers to reduce carbon emissions. Experts testifying before the panel informed Manchin that Japanese companies are experimenting with ammonia injections.
